14:05 – 14:50 | Predavanje: „AI-assisted Research: How and why (not) to use AI in your Research Workflow“
The possibilities related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) have been rapidly increasing ever since ChatGPT became publicly available in November 2022. Today, AI is transforming how we approach research more than ever before. However, using AI in research is not without its challenges. This talk will explore practical applications of AI in the research workflow, from literature discovery and synthesis, over data analysis and visualization, to drafting and refining manuscripts. Limitations of the currently available models will be examined as well, including hallucinations, bias, and the absence of genuine reasoning. Ultimately, addressing ethical considerations and the importance of academic rigour, this talk aims to help young researchers integrate AI responsibly into their research workflow, ensuring it serves as a tool for enhancing rather than replacing critical thought.
