Table Tennis
The major university table tennis competition was held on Sunday, March 15, at the Zagreb Table Tennis Center – Dragutin Šurbek, bringing together a large number of top student athletes.
For the women’s team, Lucija Žižak and Petra Grbavac competed, while the men’s team included Petar Znika, Tin Grabrovečki, Noa Šoić, and Luka Kotorac.
Out of a total of 72 participants, FOI’s men’s team achieved outstanding results. Noa Šoić reached the second qualification round (Top 32), while Tin Grabrovečki and Luka Kotorac advanced to the round of 16. The greatest success was achieved by Petar Znika, who, with a brilliant performance, won first place and the title of university champion. On his way to gold, he defeated very strong opponents, including one first-league player and three super-league players.
In the team ranking, FOI achieved an excellent second place, just behind the Faculty of Kinesiology.
In the women’s competition, despite great determination and effort, FOI’s representatives were stopped in the first round, facing an unfavorable draw.
Padel
FOI also participated in the UniSport padel competition at the end of February with two men’s teams.
The first team consisted of Jakov Brajković and Krešimir Klarić, who successfully opened the tournament with a victory against the Faculty of Law but were stopped in the second round by the Bernays team with a score of 4:6, 4:6.
The second team was represented by Karlo Kršak and Kristian Katulić, who, despite a determined performance, lost 0:6, 2:6.
