Objavljeno: 05.03.2026

Students of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics successfully completed an international virtual exchange within the Web Application Development (WAD) project, carried out in collaboration with the University of Łódź (Poland). The project was funded by the University of Zagreb through the UNIC VIP Fund, providing students with valuable international experience without the need for physical mobility.

Fifteen third-year undergraduate students from the Information and Business Systems (IPS) study programme participated in the project during the winter semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The activity was designed as a collaborative international learning experience in which students from both institutions attended joint lectures and laboratory sessions, worked in 15 mixed international teams, and developed and presented their final projects.

The teaching programme included 14 thematic blocks of lectures and laboratory exercises, three asynchronous sessions based on video materials, one introductory session, and four sessions dedicated to final project presentations. Particular emphasis was placed on teamwork in an intercultural environment, knowledge exchange, and the application of acquired competencies in web application development.

From FOI, the project was implemented by Prof. Dragutin Kermek, PhD; Matija Kaniški, MInf; Marija Maček, MInf; and Assist. Prof. Matija Novak, PhD, who served as the project leader. From the partner institution, Assist. Prof. Mariusz Jarocki, PhD, and Assist. Prof. Agata Półrola, PhD, participated in the project.

After completing all planned activities, the students received certificates of participation, and the project once again confirmed the importance of virtual mobility and international collaboration in contemporary higher education.

The WAD participants were Toni Babić, Mihael Baivić, Ana Bilić, Marija Bilić, Ivan Božak, Ivan Cimerman, Pavel Folnović, Marina Jendrašić, David Mikolaj, Andrej Pavešić, Tin Posavec, Marko Stipić, Luka Šegović, David Trstenjak, and Domagoj Vlahek, whom we congratulate on successfully completing the project!
