Prof. Violeta Vidaček Hainš, PhD Guest Lecturer at Thapar University in India
At the invitation of the host institution, Thapar School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (TSLAS) in Patiala, India, Prof. Violeta Vidaček Hainš, PhD, served as a guest lecturer and conducted communication workshops for graduate and doctoral students in psychology from 11 to 18 October 2026. The workshops, entitled “Cross-Cultural Communication and Individual Differences: How to Build Positive Relationships”, brought together approximately 30 students.

Research project Generic skills development within the AI-supported teaching and learning ecosystem (GenSKAI) started
On Monday, October 19, 2026, the kick-off meeting for the project "Generic skills development within the AI-supported teaching and learning ecosystem – GenSKAI" was held at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics. International mobility at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences

UNIZG FOI strengthens scientific excellence through three new HRZZ projects

International students arrive at UNIZG FOI for the winter semester
The International Relations Centre at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (UNIZG FOI) organised Welcome Week from 29 September to 1 October 2026, welcoming international students for the winter semester of the 2026/27 academic year. The students come from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, EPITECH and ECE Engineering School in France, Malmö University in Sweden, and Hongik University in South Korea.

FOI students develop digital solutions for sustainability in an international setting
Bringing together students and academic staff from five European countries, exchanging knowledge and applying digital technologies to sustainability were at the heart of the international workshop “Green Thinking & Digital Action”, held from 22 to 24 September 2026 in Kranj, Slovenia, with the participation of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (UNIZG FOI).

FOI and ESIEA held the third Summer school in Varaždin
The third FOI-ESIEA Summer school was successfully completed at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics. Held from 1 to 24 September 2026, it was jointly organised by FOI and its partner engineering school, ESIEA in France. The programme brought together twelve ESIEA students, with fourteen FOI students also joining the classes in asymmetric cryptography.

New Board of the UNIZG FOI
On 1 October 2026, the new Board of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics takes office, led by Professor Renata Mekovec, PhD, Dean. The new Board’s term covers the academic years 2026/2027, 2027/2028 and 2028/2029.

FOI students present research at Symposium in the USA
The 14th Student Research Symposium on Intercultural Learning took place in the USA from 31 August to 10 September 2026, continuing a longstanding tradition. FOI students Mihaela Sedlar, Niko Rastija and Dino Plodinec visited the University of Cincinnati in Ohio and Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, as well as Chicago. They were accompanied by Professor Violeta Vidaček Hainš, PhD, who led the Symposium from 2010 to 2026, and Damir Vučić, PhD, both faculty members at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics.
