From November 28 to December 10, 2025, the project 3rd International Student Business Meetup was organized and held at two universities in the USA. Seven University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics students (Petra Prister, Sofija Posuda, Dora Kulaš, Nina Mirčić, Luka Arbutina, Ivan Lalić and Alen Adrović) and teachers Assoc. Prof. Mario Konecki, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Igor Pihir, Ph.D. and project expert Jerry John Antolos visited the USA to participate in the project activities.

Antuna in Varaždin.
At the ceremonial session marking Faculty Day at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) on December 18, 2025, Prof. Luis de Marcos Ortega, full professor at the University of Alcalá in Madrid, was awarded a special recognition – the “Friend of FOI” Award. The award was presented in gratitude for his outstanding contributions to international collaboration, scientific and teaching excellence, and the promotion of FOI in the global academic community.
The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Organization and Informatics, has launched the first activities of its new Erasmus+ project SAILeR – Streamlining AI in Learning Reimagination, the third FOI-coordinated Erasmus+ projects focused on developing learning design and learning analytics, this time with a stronger emphasis on the application of artificial intelligence. The project brings together five renowned European universities and continues the long-standing successful collaboration of international partners in modernizing higher education.
After more than seventeen years of effort, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, a constituent of the University of Zagreb, proudly announces that the Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth has approved funding for the project “Demolition and Construction of the New FOI 2 Building” through a World Bank loan as part of the Digital, Innovative, and Green Technologies (DIGIT) project. This finally secures a stable and long-term source of financing for the construction of a modern university campus at the Prilaz Fausta Vrančića location in Varaždin, with a total estimated eligible cost of 20 million euros.
On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics hosted the second Tech&Business Talks@FOI conference, which once again gathered numerous students, high school pupils, teachers and professionals from various business sectors across Croatia. The rich program and the relevance of the topics reaffirmed FOI’s importance as a central hub connecting technology, business and innovation, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence.
Students, alumni, and all enthusiasts of technology and the business world will soon have the opportunity to attend the second Tech&Business Talks@FOI conference, taking place on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (Pavlinska 2, Varaždin). Tech&Business Talks@FOI is organized as a series of short parallel talks across two tracks – an IT track and a Business track – designed to connect knowledge, experience, and ideas from the fields of technology and business.
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), as the coordinator of the Erasmus+ project DIGITAsia – Digital Transformation of Asian Higher Education, led the development and implementation of an open online course aimed at educating teachers in the field of digital transformation and Education 5.0. The FOI team also delivered a comprehensive teacher-trainer education programme in late October at three universities in the Maldives.
At the Faculty of Organization and Informatics another Career Week successfully concluded from October 20 to 25, 2025, connecting students, employers, and alumni through a rich program of activities, panels, and workshops. Over six days, FOI hosted representatives from around 50 companies, who conducted 15 professional workshops, while participation from nearly 600 students confirmed the strong interest in this event.
Assoc. Prof. Robert Kudelić, PhD and Assist. Prof. Tamara Šmaguc, PhD, spent October 2025 at Nord University in the Norwegian city of Bodø. The Erasmus+ training resulted in successful networking, accompanied by an inspiring exchange of knowledge and experience in the areas of scientific research, projects, teaching, and the development of students’ entrepreneurial skills.
