Assoc. Prof. Robert Kudelić, PhD and Assist. Prof. Tamara Šmaguc, PhD, spent October 2025 at Nord University in the Norwegian city of Bodø. The Erasmus+ training resulted in successful networking, accompanied by an inspiring exchange of knowledge and experience in the areas of scientific research, projects, teaching, and the development of students’ entrepreneurial skills.

The University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) is hosting a Fulbright Scholar for the first time – Dr. Thomas Penniston, a renowned expert in the field of learning analytics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in the United States.
On Friday, 10 October 2025, the 36th Doctoral Workshop was held at FOI. The workshop began with an invited lecture titled “Qualitative Multi-Criteria Decision Modelling for Research and Applications” delivered by Prof. Dr. Marko Bohanec (Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia).
In the winter semester of the academic year 2025/2026, University of Zagreb, Faculty of Organization and Informatics (UNIZG FOI) is hosting 13 international students from France (EPITECH and ECE), Romania (Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie Târgu Mureș), Spain (Universidad de Deusto) and South Korea (Chonnam National University). Traditionally, FOI’s International Relations Office organized a Welcome Week for them, held from September 29 to November 3, 2025.
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), hosted the second FOI–ESIEA Summer School throughout September 2025. The program was jointly organized by FOI and its partner institution, the French engineering school ESIEA. It took place from September 1 to 25, 2025, bringing together 23 students and four professors from Croatia and France.
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics has once again confirmed its excellence in the re-accreditation process conducted by the Agency for Science and Higher Education (Croatian: AZVO). The experts established that FOI fully meets the requirements for carrying out academic activities in accordance with the highest standards of the Accreditation Council.
Forty students from the France, Lithuania, Croatia, Slovakia, Poland and USA delivered 20 research projects online or in form of posters presentations at the 15th Student Poster and Online Section, held within CECIIS 2025 conference. Chairs of this event are Prof. Dr. Violeta Vidaček Hainš from FOI, Prof. Dr. Victoria Appatova from University of Cincinnati, OH, USA and Dr. Antonela Devčić from FOI.
On Wednesday, September 17, the opening day of the international Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems (CECIIS), a meeting of deans and vice-deans of faculties in the fields of social sciences and technology from Croatia, Slovenia, and Serbia was held at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) in Varaždin. The goal was to bring together higher education leaders to exchange experiences and openly discuss current challenges in higher education.
