Created: 05.05.2026

The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), opened its doors to all interested visitors on April 30, 2026, as part of the FOI Open Day and a parallel student project showcase event, organized by the Career Development and Student Support Center with the support of the Faculty management, students and staff.

The event took place at FOI in Varaždin, where visitors had the opportunity to explore a wide range of student work developed through coursework, team projects, competitions, and extracurricular activities. The aim was to present the practical application of knowledge and to provide prospective students and the wider public with insight into how learning and teaching at FOI are organized.

The showcase featured numerous projects, including simulation modeling of lift queue systems for ski seasons, the Global Goals Jam within business processes courses, a marketing plan for innovative functional beverages “MOODY” designed for Generation Z, projects related to digital innovation incubators and smart cities, as well as team projects in data privacy, IT service management, mobile and web application development, and entrepreneurial ventures.

The event was also open to final-year high school students and participants of the FOI Open Day 2026, which is traditionally organized to present study programs, professional internships, and career opportunities. Special emphasis was placed on the interdisciplinary nature of studies, strong links with the labor market, and opportunities for participation in projects, competitions, and international exchanges.

The program also included a panel with FOI alumni and students, who shared their study and career experiences through a Q&A session, offering valuable advice to future students regarding study choices and career paths.

The Open Day and showcase once again confirmed FOI as a place where students gain knowledge through practice, develop innovative solutions, and actively prepare for careers in a dynamic technological environment.
