On 7 July, the first LTR Point was opened at the premises of the former municipal building at Trg dr. Franje Tuđmana 2C in Turčin. The facility is part of the implementation of the Regional Pre-Incubation Centre for Smart Industry project, led by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), with a total value of €6.1 million and financed through the ITU mechanism.
From September 16 to 18, 2026, the 37th International Scientific Conference CECIIS – Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems will be held in Varaždin, organized by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics.
On Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday, July 23, 2026, the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) hosted a seminar and a workshop dedicated to the application of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and large language models (LLMs) in scientific research. The activities were organized as part of the research visit of Prof. Luis de Marcos Ortega from the University of Alcalá (Spain), carried out within the activities of FOI’s Laboratory for Applied Software Engineering.
A delegation from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), one of the partner universities in the Erasmus+ DIGITAsia project coordinated by the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, visited FOI for a two-day study visit. The visit built upon the successful collaboration established through the project and focused on the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of artificial intelligence and humanoid robotics in education.

On 11 June 2026, the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor, hosted the Regional Meeting of Deans of Economics and Business Faculties of Southeast Europe, bringing together representatives of leading higher education institutions from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Hungary. FOI was represented at the meeting by Assoc. Prof. Ivan Malbašić, PhD, Vice Dean for Business and Human Resources.
