The three-day programme helped students get to know UNIZG FOI, explore Varaždin and meet one another. It began with a meeting with the International Relations Centre, where students received practical information and help with administrative matters.
On Wednesday, the official welcome was given by Izabela Oletić Tušek, Head of the International Relations Centre, Associate Professor Martina Tomičić Furjan, Vice Dean for Science, Projects and International Cooperation, for whom this was the final welcome to international students in her term as Vice Dean, and Associate Professor Katarina Pažur Aničić, ECTS Coordinator. They wished the students a successful and enjoyable stay at UNIZG FOI.
The lecturers then introduced themselves and their courses, explaining what students could expect during the semester. Later that day, a guided tour introduced students to Varaždin’s main sights, history and cultural heritage.
The evening was spent at the Varaždin Student Residence, where students joined their FOI Buddies for a social event and pizza night. The relaxed atmosphere gave everyone a chance to chat, get to know one another and spend a fun evening together.
Welcome Week ended with a Treasure Hunt and a gathering at Medina Škrinja Pub. Working in teams, students explored the city and enjoyed spending time with their new friends. These first few days helped them feel more at home in Varaždin and ready for the semester ahead.
