FOI Volunteers participated in the organization of the 6th humanitarian "City of Angels" race in Varaždin

More than 40 volunteers from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) actively participated in the preparation and organization of the 6th humanitarian "City of Angels" race, held on May 10, 2025, in Varaždin.

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, the 6th "City of Angels" humanitarian race took place, gathering over 850 runners. The start and finish lines were located at Kapucinski Square, and all proceeds from registration fees were donated to the Foster Care Association for Children and Youth of Varaždin County, "ZIPKA." This charitable event would not have been possible without the support of volunteers, among whom more than 40 students from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb, stood out.

FOI students played an active role in organizing and managing the logistics of the race, offering support to participants, organizers, and visitors. Through their involvement, they demonstrated a high level of social engagement and a readiness to contribute to the community. Their participation was made possible through collaboration with the FOI Center for Volunteering and Humanitarian Work, which has been promoting volunteerism as an integral part of student life for many years.

Social responsibility and community engagement are core values of FOI. Through academic programs and courses, professional and scientific projects, as well as extracurricular activities like volunteering, FOI encourages students to develop social sensitivity, empathy, and an awareness of the importance of socially responsible action. In doing so, FOI educates not only future experts in the fields of informatics and economics, but also responsible citizens who contribute to the development of society with their knowledge and commitment.

The participation of FOI volunteers in the "City of Angels" humanitarian race is yet another example that education can—and should—be connected with humane and socially beneficial activities—values that FOI consistently fosters and passes on to its students.
