On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) hosted another successful event aimed at connecting alumni, students, and representatives of the IT industry. In collaboration with one of Croatia’s largest IT associations – Unit (formerly CISEx) – a meetup titled “Without Fear: Debunking Myths About Entrepreneurship in the Croatian IT Community” was held.
The CECIIS 2025 Conference announces the extension of the paper submission deadline to May 31, 2025, and the confirmation of distinguished keynote speakers. Participants are invited to attend the conference physically in Varaždin or to join online, and engage with leading experts while exploring current developments in information and intelligent systems.
The opening conference of the ITEO 2.0 project – Strengthening STEM in Međimurje, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus, through the Effective Human Resources 2021–2027 program, was held at the Technology and Innovation Center Međimurje.
Full Prof. Nina Begičević Ređep, PhD, Head of Strategic Planning and Decision Making Laboratory at Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), and Sabina Rako, Assistant Director and Head of the Service Development and Management Sector at SRCE (University Computing Centre), visited Fukuyama University in the city of Fukuyama, Japan, in April 2025.
Prof. Dr. Violeta Vidaček Hainš visited the Republic of South Africa and presented experiences linked to the virtual mobility in teaching - Collaborative online International Learning (COIL) at the University of Pretoria (UP). The goal of this visit was to continue and extend the cooperation between the Faculty of Organization and Informatics and the Department of Information Sciences of the University of Pretoria.
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics is once again hosting the Global Goals Jam in Varaždin this year, in collaboration with the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering in Varaždin. A total of 11 teams have registered for this year’s edition, and they have already started working on their projects. As part of the preparations, the teams visited the MakerSpace at the Tech Park Varaždin, where they will use available technologies and resources to develop prototypes of their solutions.
The FOI Student Support and Career Development Centre (CPSRK) organized Career Compass, a three-day event designed for FOI students, taking place from April 14 to 16, 2025, at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin. The goal of this initiative is to empower students by providing practical knowledge and connecting them with relevant employers, highlighting the importance of integrating education with the labor market.
On Friday, March 21, 2025, around forty students from FOI visited the companies Gideon Brothers and Infobip. The visit was primarily organized for students of the Artificial Intelligence in Business module as part of the course "Application of Artificial Intelligence in Business" (led by Prof. Sandra Lovrenčić, PhD and Assoc. Prof. Dijana Oreški, PhD), initiated by Prof. Sandra Lovrenčić and supported by the FOI Student Support and Career Development Center. There was also room for other interested students from various study years and programs.
To mark Global and European Money Week, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) organized a series of lectures and workshops on fintech, financial literacy, cryptocurrencies, fraud prevention, and investment strategies. The program was open to all FOI students, regardless of their study program or year.
This semester, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) is introducing two specialized academies in partnership with leading companies: the Solvership Academy and Fina Academy. These programs provide students with hands-on experience and industry-relevant skills in data governance and software testing.
