University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics has once again confirmed its position as a leader in the field of international cooperation and innovation in higher education. A team of faculty members and researchers, led by Prof. Violeta Vidaček Hainš, PhD, together with Prof. Marina Klačmer Čalopa, PhD, Antonela Devčić, PhD socio., and Karolina Kokot, PhD socio. received the international Profformance Award for Excellence in Teaching in the category of internationalization of higher education programs.
The seventeenth FOI International Days 2025 were held at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin, from May 21 to 23, 2025, under the theme “International Horizons: Bridging Minds, Changing Lives!”. This year’s theme highlighted the transformative power of student mobility on personal, academic, and professional development.
At the Fachhochschule des BFI Wirtschaft, Management Finance in Vienna, the workshop “Development of Pilot Courses “ was organized during May 8th and 9th 2025. This workshop is part of the Erasmus+ Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education Teaching and Learning AI-HED project.

On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) hosted another successful event aimed at connecting alumni, students, and representatives of the IT industry. In collaboration with one of Croatia’s largest IT associations – Unit (formerly CISEx) – a meetup titled “Without Fear: Debunking Myths About Entrepreneurship in the Croatian IT Community” was held.
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics, through its Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AI Lab), is actively participating in a new European project titled “Artificial Intelligence-Powered Business Process Automation” (AppAI), which officially started on May 1, 2025.
The opening conference of the ITEO 2.0 project – Strengthening STEM in Međimurje, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus, through the Effective Human Resources 2021–2027 program, was held at the Technology and Innovation Center Međimurje.
Full Prof. Nina Begičević Ređep, PhD, Head of Strategic Planning and Decision Making Laboratory at Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), and Sabina Rako, Assistant Director and Head of the Service Development and Management Sector at SRCE (University Computing Centre), visited Fukuyama University in the city of Fukuyama, Japan, in April 2025.
From February 12 to 14, 2025, the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ project DIGITAsia – Digital Transformation of Asian Higher Education was held at the partner institutions in Sri Lanka, coordinated by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) under the leadership of Prof. Igor Balaban, Ph.D.
The final conference of the scientific project HELA – Improving HEI maturity to implementlearning analytics was held on 25 February, 2025. at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (UNIZG FOI). This significant research project, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, brought together leading national and international experts with the goal of improving the educational process through learning analytics. The project was led by Prof. Nina Begičević Ređep, Ph.D. with Prof. Diana Šimić, Ph.D. as the co-leader.
