The panel titled “Digital Finance Ecosystem: From Regulation to Innovation” focused on the role of digital technologies in the modern financial sector. The discussion brought together experts from banking, IT services, fintech, and industry, who emphasized that the future of financial services depends on the integration of technology, regulatory frameworks, and user needs. Key topics included artificial intelligence in financial product development, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance such as the EU DORA framework, and the evolving relationship between banks and fintech companies. The panel also highlighted how digital transformation is reshaping required competencies in the labor market, with increasing demand for UX specialists, business analysts, and AI experts.
A dedicated panel of alumni and students, titled “From Studies to Career”, further explored career development paths after FOI. Participants from companies such as IBM iX Croatia, Span, and Lunax d.o.o., along with FOI students, shared experiences on transitioning from academic education to professional environments. The discussion emphasized the importance of combining technical and business skills, continuous learning, and active student engagement in projects, clubs, and extracurricular activities.
Another panel-tribune, “Dual Career: Sport as an Ally of Academic Success and Health Preservation in Building a Professional Career”, highlighted the balance between sports and academic life. Featuring prominent figures from sports and academia, including national football coach Zlatko Dalić and FOI alumni athletes, the discussion emphasized discipline, consistency, and goal-setting as key factors for success both in sports and education. The panel also addressed institutional support for student-athletes and the importance of structured programs that enable dual career development.
FOI also co-organized a set of thematic panels dedicated to leadership and decision-making in complex systems and the future of work in the era of artificial intelligence with Lead You iniciative. These discussions brought together academic leaders, industry executives, and experts in technology and ESG, who explored leadership responsibility, organizational change, and the growing importance of STEM competencies. Special focus was placed on how AI is transforming job roles while increasing the demand for analytical thinking, adaptability, and continuous learning.
Across all events, a common theme emerged: the need for stronger collaboration between higher education institutions, industry, and alumni networks in order to prepare students for rapidly changing professional environments. FOI once again confirmed its role as an active hub connecting education, research, and practice, contributing to the development of future-ready professionals.
The Faculty extends its gratitude to all panelists, moderators, and participants for their valuable contributions and engagement!
