In Varaždin on Monday, 2 June 2026, a public presentation was held of the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) for the project of construction and equipping of the new research infrastructure of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb – FOI 2.
We invite you to a lecture titled “From Research Ideas to Research Artefacts: Building Collaboration in Informatics and Design Science Research.” The lecture is part of the Faculty’s internal “Time 4 Science” project and will take place on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, from 12:00 AM, in Lecture Hall 10 (FOI1). The speaker will be Professor Alta van der Merwe, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology at the University of Pretoria, and a long-standing friend of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics.
On Thursday, 28 May 2026, first-year students of the Graduate Study in Economics of Entrepreneurship visited the City of Varaždin as a local self-government unit within the course Public Management.
As part of the internal project Time 4 Science, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics hosted a lecture on May 29, 2026, titled “Limits, Tensions, and Risks of Human–AI Assemblages in Organizations: The Case of Human Digital Twins in B2B Sales Contexts”.
Students presented the results of the COIL - Collaborative Online International Learning project (28th May 2026). The innovative COIL learning method was implemented 2018 at FOI and is coordinated by Prof. Dr. Violeta Vidaček Hainš. During the past winter semester 2025/26, COIL was implemented in the Human Resources and Career Development course, 3rd year of the undergraduate study program Information Technologies and Business Digitalization, co-leded by Prof. Dr. Marina Klačmer Čalopa, and associates assistants Dr. Karolina Kokot and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katarina Pažur Aničić. The head of COIL at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) is professor Andreia Carita, and at the University of Pretoria, Republic of South Africa, Prof. Dr. Machdel Mathee.
The CECIIS 2026 conference announces an extension of the paper submission deadline to 15 June 2026. From May 12 to 14, 2026, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics successfully hosted the International WebSec Initiative 2026, a three-day international project dedicated to web security, cybersecurity, and practical student education through lectures, workshops, and a Capture The Flag (CTF) competition.
A Cooperation Agreement between the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (UNIZG FOI) and the Korea National University of Education (KNUE) was signed in South Korea on May 12, 2026, with the aim of strengthening international academic cooperation through faculty and student mobility, as well as the development of joint research and project initiatives.
Associate Professor Martina Tomičić Furjan, PhD, Vice Dean of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), participated in the International Cooperation Days organized by the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pécs in April 2026, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and sharing experiences in the field of internationalization.
