The Faculty of Organization and Informatics has once again participated in Erasmus+ Combined Intensive Programs (BIP) under the name "Next-Level - Innovation for sustainability and inclusion" in Amsterdam. The lecturer from FOI was Martina Tomičić Furjan, and the students who participated and earned 5 ECTS from FOI were Jana Pučar, Klara Škaulj, Mateo Vujica and Benjamin Filip Šikač. Other partners involved in the implementation of the program, in addition to FOI, were Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Netherlands (coordinator), Karel de Grote University College, Antwerp, Belgium and Hochschule der Medien, Stuttgart, Germany. Total of 37 students and 6 lecturers participated in the program.

In this program, the goal was for students to research sustainable innovations and develop business models in parallel using new technologies and creative thinking techniques in order to develop entrepreneurial solutions for certain problems or challenges in the world.

The learning and teaching methods were a combination of online teaching, self-study, training and practical tasks. Through tasks, in cooperation with other participants and teachers, the students developed their own opinions and improved their skills.

This program ran in a combined form, from October 4 to October 29, 2022 - 3 weeks online (October 4-October 21) and 1 week live in Amsterdam (October 23-October 29). Through online classes, participants generated ideas to solve the identified problem, in multidisciplinary and international teams and developed their innovation project every week, applying the principles of creative thinking. The onsite part of the intensive program took place at HVA in Amsterdam. During this week, students continued to work in teams, through interactive workshops, gamification, creation of solution prototypes in the "MakersLab", etc. At the end of the program, all teams presented their solution proposals and through evaluation of the proposals by the teacher (according to the "Shark tank" principle), but also from other teams, received feedback on the successful realization of the learning outcomes of the program.

The feedback from the participants has been very positive, and the program has allowed students to gain valuable experiences and make new friends. The lecturers will continue their cooperation and organize BIP in the next call as well.

Student experiences:

This program was an interesting experience where I met even more interesting people. I definitely suggest anyone looking for knowledge, fun and a break from the routine to sign up! – Klara Škaulj

I won't lie, I didn't expect to meet so many like-minded people. When is the next "Next level"? – Benjamin Filip Šikač
