The 2025 Summer School will focus on current challenges in the areas of databases, web programming, information security, and asymmetric cryptography and its applications. As in the previous year, lecturers from both institutions will take part. Students will have the opportunity to gain practical knowledge, connect with peers from abroad, and develop professional and intercultural competencies. Participants will also receive a number of ECTS credits for their involvement.
The Summer School program will span all four weeks of September. The Introductory Database Course will be taught by Prof. Markus Schatten, Ph.D., while the Web Programming and Web Security Fundamentals course will be delivered by Assistant Professor Matija Novak, Ph.D., and Teaching Assistant Marija Maček, M.Sc.
During the final week (September 22–25), Prof. Robert Erra, Ph.D., an expert in information security from ESIEA, will conduct the course An Introduction to Asymmetric Cryptography & Its Applications. FOI students will also have the opportunity to join this course, with a call for applications to be published at a later date.
In addition to the academic program, FOI will once again organize social activities and excursions, giving guests from France the chance to explore Croatian culture, people, and natural beauty.
The FOI–ESIEA Summer School highlights the importance of international collaboration in higher education—primarily for the benefit of students—and further affirms FOI’s role as a reliable partner in delivering high-quality educational programs.
More information about the program and the call for FOI student participation will be announced at the end of August.
