FOI at the 2026 EFMD Deans conference

The Faculty of Organization and Informatics Board members participated in the 2026 EFMD Deans Conference, entitled “New realities, bold choices: Reinventing the business school”, one of the most prominent international gatherings of deans and senior leaders of business schools and faculties worldwide.

FOI was represented by Prof. Marina Klačmer Čalopa, Ph.D., Dean, and Assoc. Prof. Martina Tomičić Furjan, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Science, Projects, and International Cooperation, who joined academic leaders from Europe and beyond to engage in discussions on the strategic direction and future development of business schools and higher education institutions.

The conference provided a valuable opportunity for networking, exchange of experiences, and learning about emerging trends shaping business education. Through keynote lectures, plenary sessions, and interactive breakout discussions, participants explored new perspectives on leadership in uncertain times, the role of artificial intelligence in education and institutional management, stakeholder and corporate engagement, quality assurance and accreditation, as well as the growing societal responsibilities of universities.

A particular focus of the conference was on strategic choices and development pathways for business schools facing rapid technological change, geopolitical uncertainty, and evolving expectations from students, industry, and society. The discussions offered practical insights and forward-looking guidelines that can support institutions in redefining their missions, strengthening international cooperation, and enhancing their educational and research impact.

Participation in the EFMD Deans Conference enabled FOI representatives to connect with peers, exchange best practices, and gain inspiration for future initiatives, contributing to the Faculty’s ongoing efforts in strategic development, internationalisation, and continuous quality improvement. The conference also reinforced the importance of collaboration and open dialogue among academic leaders in shaping resilient and innovative higher education institutions.
