During the Academy, 10 students had the opportunity to learn key principles and techniques of software testing, work with tools for web services testing, learn test automation using the Selenium framework in the Java programming language, and conduct performance testing of web applications using the JMeter tool. Special emphasis was placed on hands-on work, modern testing approaches, and working in agile and DevOps environments.
The workshops were led by experts from FINA, including Damir Ranec, Head of the IT Quality Department, as well as quality assurance engineers Vinko Đančević and Mario Kokl, who shared their practical experience with students and brought them closer to the challenges of working in IT quality and application testing. The program enabled students to acquire additional practical knowledge that will be useful in their further education and future professional development.
The cooperation between FOI and FINA continues through various activities aimed at connecting the academic community and the business sector, and the FINA Academy is another example of successful knowledge transfer and the development of competencies in demand on the labor market. Additional value to the cooperation is provided by the activities of FINA’s Development Center, located within FOI’s premises, where many FOI students are already employed, and some Academy participants are expected to have the opportunity to complete professional internships and later gain employment.

Support and congratulations to the students were also given by FINA representatives: Marko Smičić, Director of the IT Sector, Ivan Vučetić, Deputy Director of the IT Sector, Dario Belić, Director of the IT Services Development Department, and Marina Kordić, Head of the Center for Testing and IT Solutions Quality Management.
