The framework of using artificial intelligence tools in teaching, student work, and research at the UNIZG FOI

Univeristy of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics recognizes the significant role of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in shaping and improving learning, teaching, and scientific research activities. Therefore, FOI promotes the use of AI tools as a means of stimulating innovation and creativity within the academic community, while simultaneously ensuring that the use of these tools is carried out in a responsible, ethically acceptable, and legally regulated manner.

Invitation to the workshop "Writing Teaching Cases"

As part of this year's FOI International Cooperation Days 2024 organized by the Entrepreneurship Lab, Professor Jeanette Miller, Ph.D. from the Smeal College of Business, Penn State University, will hold a workshop for FOI and other interested Ph.D. students on writing business problem cases for use in class. The workshop is especially suitable for teachers of economic and organizational subjects, but all interested parties are invited.

 

CECIIS 2024 keynote speakers announced

We are very happy to announce that this year's keynote speakers at our CECIIS 2024 conference are Full Prof. Srđan Čapkun, Ph.D. from Zurich Information Security and Privacy Center (ZISC), Full Prof. Hanni Muukkonen, Ph.D. from Faculty of Education and Psychology, University of Oulu, Finland and Full Prof. Bart Rienties, Ph.D. from Institute of Educational Technology at the Open University UK.

TRUELA Kick-off meeting & Research workshop held

On Tuesday, 5 March 2024, a Kick-off meeting was held back-to-back with a Research workshop on trustworthy learning analytics (LA) and AI algorithms. The meeting, held in a hybrid format (@FOI and online), was led by Professor Blaženka Divjak, the projects’ principal investigator.

A 35-year tradition of international scientific conference CECIIS organized by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics

The Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems (CECIIS) has been a cornerstone in fostering researchers engaged in developing and applying methods and techniques in the realm of information and intelligent systems for almost 35 years now at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics. Established in 1989, CECIIS, hosted annually in Varaždin, Croatia, has earned commendable credibility in the international scientific community over the past three and half decades. Its enduring tradition is reflected in the increasing participation and a surge in associated scientific and professional activities.

Call for papers - CECIIS 2024

We invite you to submit papers to the 35th Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems, that will take place at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin, Croatia from 18 to 20 September, 2024.

Members of the AMAC-FOI Association reunited at the FOI - elected new leadership and adopted the Work Plan for 2024.

On Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin, the election assembly of the Association of Graduates, Associates and Friends of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics AMAC-FOI was held. About 30 members of the Association participated in the assembly, and 20 members with the right to vote unanimously supported Associate Professor Katarina Tomičić-Pupek, Ph.D. for the new President of the Association, Dejan Drabić for Vice President and Romina Kelemen for Secretary.

Invited lecture by Ivana Marinković, EFMD global network director for Central and Eastern Europe

On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, starting at 9:00 a.m. in Hall 2 (FOI 2), an invited lecture by Ivana Marinković, EFMD Global Network, Director for Central and Eastern Europe, will be held. The aim of the lecture is to familiarize the participants with the importance and advantages of the EFMD Global network and EFMD accreditations. The lecture will be held in English.

Strengthening international ties with Faculty of Management Science and Informatics from Žilina

During the 61st anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics at the University of Zagreb, Assoc. Prof. Ing. Peter Márton, Ph.D., was honored with the prestigious "Friend of FOI" Charter by the Faculty Council. This annual award recognizes international associates for their exceptional contributions and efforts in fostering strong ties with our institution.
