Project SeEduOpsAI launched: Open Platform for AI Enhanced Software Engineering Education

On Monday, 9 February 2026, the kick-off meeting of the SeEduOpsAI project was held at the premises of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics. The project is funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, and is led by Assoc. Prof. Zlatko Stapić, Ph.D.

The main objectives of the SeEduOpsAI project are to explore possibilities for supporting the teaching of software engineering and software development at higher education institutions by applying artificial intelligence, and to develop an innovative open platform for the integration of AI tools and other tools used in the teaching process. The project aims to facilitate adaptation of the complex teaching process in the field of software engineering to rapid technological changes, and to narrow the gap between achieved learning outcomes and industry requirements.

The project is implemented from 31 January 2026 to 30 January 2029, with a total budget of 116,311.00 EUR.

In addition to Assoc. Prof. Zlatko Stapić, Ph. D., the project team includes Vjeran Strahonja, prof. emer., Full Prof. Markus Schatten, Ph. D., Full Prof. Ruben Picek, Ph. D., Assoc. Prof. Dijana Plantak Vukovac, Ph. D., Assoc. Prof. Darko Andročec, Ph. D., Asst. Prof. Marko Mijač, Ph. D., Asst. Prof. Matija Novak, Ph.D., Marija Maček, M. Inf., Matej Mihaljević, M. Inf., Lovro Posarić, M. Inf., and Dijana Peras, M. Inf.

At the meeting, the project goals and planned activities for the upcoming period were presented. The emphasis was on the activities that need to be carried out in the first year of project implementation, and the first steps and operational plan for carrying out project activities were agreed.
