FOI students and alumni present graduate study programs to prospective students

At the beginning of June, the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics successfully hosted its Graduate Studies Day, an event designed for prospective students considering enrollment in graduate programs but still unsure about which specialization to choose. The event brought together students, faculty members, FOI staff, alumni, and industry representatives, with the goal of providing a comprehensive and transparent overview of study programs, student experiences, and career opportunities after graduation.

Regional meeting of deans of economics and business faculties of Southeast Europe held in Maribor

On 11 June 2026, the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor, hosted the Regional Meeting of Deans of Economics and Business Faculties of Southeast Europe, bringing together representatives of leading higher education institutions from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Hungary. FOI was represented at the meeting by Assoc. Prof. Ivan Malbašić, PhD, Vice Dean for Business and Human Resources.

FOI participated in the SymOrg 2026 forum – focus on resilient and intelligent organizations

As part of the international symposium SymOrg 2026, one of the leading scientific conferences in the field of organizational sciences held at Kopaonik, a forum entitled “Unlocking Regional Potential Through Academia–Industry Collaboration” was also organized and brought together representatives of the academic community from across the region, including Assoc. Prof. Martina Tomičić Furjan, PhD, Vice Dean for Research, Projects and International Cooperation at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI).

New FOI 2 Campus presented in Varaždin

In Varaždin on Monday, 2 June 2026, a public presentation was held of the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) for the project of construction and equipping of the new research infrastructure of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb – FOI 2.

Time 4 Science lecture by Professor Alta van der Merwe

We invite you to a lecture titled “From Research Ideas to Research Artefacts: Building Collaboration in Informatics and Design Science Research.” The lecture is part of the Faculty’s internal “Time 4 Science” project and will take place on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, from 12:00 AM, in Lecture Hall 10 (FOI1). The speaker will be Professor Alta van der Merwe, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology at the University of Pretoria, and a long-standing friend of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics.

First-year graduate students of Economics of Entrepreneurship visited the City of Varaždin

On Thursday, 28 May 2026, first-year students of the Graduate Study in Economics of Entrepreneurship visited the City of Varaždin as a local self-government unit within the course Public Management.

Time4Science lecture by Prof. Jagdip Singh at FOI on the challenges of applying human digital twins in organizations

As part of the internal project Time 4 Science, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics hosted a lecture on May 29, 2026, titled “Limits, Tensions, and Risks of Human–AI Assemblages in Organizations: The Case of Human Digital Twins in B2B Sales Contexts”.

FOI students realized COIL virtual collaboration project with students from Pretoria and Amsterdam

Students presented the results of the COIL - Collaborative Online International Learning project (28th May 2026). The innovative COIL learning method was implemented 2018 at FOI and is coordinated by Prof. Dr. Violeta Vidaček Hainš. During the past winter semester 2025/26, COIL was implemented in the Human Resources and Career Development course, 3rd year of the undergraduate study program Information Technologies and Business Digitalization, co-leded by Prof. Dr. Marina Klačmer Čalopa, and associates assistants Dr. Karolina Kokot and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katarina Pažur Aničić. The head of COIL at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) is professor Andreia Carita, and at the University of Pretoria, Republic of South Africa, Prof. Dr. Machdel Mathee.
