FOI International Days 2025 coming soon at FOI

We are pleased to invite students and staff to join us for the 17th edition of FOI International Days 2025, which will take place from May 21 to May 23, 2025. This year's theme is "International Horizons: Bridging Minds, Changing Lives!", focusing on student mobility and its impact on personal and academic growth and development.

We welcome all faculty members, administrative staff, and students to participate in this traditional international event organized by the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb.

As in previous years, FOI International Days 2025 will kick off on Wednesday, May 21, with a warm welcome for our international guests, an introduction to the Faculty, a visit to the Student Centre and a guided city tour of Varaždin. The day will end with a Pub Quiz social evening.

The main day of the event is Thursday, May 22. Following the welcome and opening remarks, two keynote lectures will be held:

  • Assoc. Prof. Krisztián Szűcs (University of Pécs): "Turning Challenges into Opportunities: The Future of Internationalisation"
  • Full Prof. Jernej Belak (University of Maribor): "Building Bridges, Shaping Futures: The Strategic Role of Internationalisation in Higher Education"

Assoc. Prof. Katarina Pažur Aničić, ECTS coordinator at FOI and coordinator of the Erasmus+ project SuMoS, will present the Erasmus+ project Strengthening the Ecosystem for Sustainable Student Mobility. Her presentation will serve as an introduction to the afternoon workshop aimed at vice-deans for international cooperation, international office staff, and Erasmus/ECTS coordinators. The workshop will focus on sharing experiences, discussing challenges in student mobility, and fostering collaboration and innovative solutions.

Next, a panel discussion titled "The Transformative Impact of Studying Abroad" will be held, moderated by Assoc. Prof.  Martina Tomičić Furjan, Vice-dean for Science, Projects and International Cooperation. Leading experts in international mobility, along with students, will share valuable insights on how studying abroad promotes cultural exchange, develops global competencies, and empowers students with skills necessary for success in today’s competitive job market.

After the panel discussion, international guests and students will visit the Varaždin Technology Park.

The final day, Friday, May 23, is dedicated to showcasing FOI’s research centers and labs, as well as a workshop on Croatian cultural heritage, including folklore and traditional dances.

This year, FOI will host:

  • 25 students and 2 professors from Pennsylvania State University (USA)
  • 20 students and 3 professors from CAMPUS 02 in Graz (Austria)
  • Around 15 faculty and staff members from Slovenia, the Netherlands, Hungary, Serbia, and Luxembourg
