FOI engaging thousands of visitors at the MUZZA Science Week in Zagreb

The Faculty of Organization and Informatics also participated this year in the MUZZA Science Week, which took place from April 9 to 12, 2026, at the University of Zagreb Rectorate (SEECEL).

This major science and education event brought together 44 exhibitors from the fields of science, technology, and industry, and offered an exceptionally rich program with more than 160 workshops and over 100 interactive activities. In addition to organized visits from 50 schools from across Croatia, the festival attracted an estimated 15,000 visitors. The program was entirely interactive—children and young people took part in experiments, workshops, panels, and lectures, exploring topics ranging from artificial intelligence to the energy of the future.

FOI presented a series of educational and technologically innovative activities aimed at popularizing science and technology among younger generations. Through the workshop “Graphical Programming with Microcontrollers and Gamification,” led by Elvis Popović and Lovro Posarić, participants had the opportunity to learn the basics of programming through hands-on work with microcontrollers. The workshop “Me, the Inventor,” led by Tena Jagačić, Magdalena Kuštelega, and Assoc. Prof. Suzana Keglević Kozjak, PhD encouraged creativity, innovative thinking, and the development of personal ideas. Special interest was also drawn by the workshop “Unmanned Aerial Vehicles,” led by Lovro Posarić, where participants were introduced to the possibilities and applications of drones.

FOI students Borna Kadežabek, Sena Kučuković, Ema Kučuković, and Adrian Stojić also took part in the implementation of the program, actively contributing to the organization and execution of activities. Additional support for FOI’s participation in the festival was provided by the Dean, Full Prof. Marina Klačmer Čalopa, PhD.

The MUZZA Science Week project connects the academic community, institutions, and leading companies, and actively contributes to linking education and the economy. The main partner of the festival is the University of Zagreb with its 23 faculties, under the patronage of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth, and the City of Zagreb.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the program, as well as to the numerous visitors!
