UNIZG FOI student Viktor Viljac wins first place at Social Impact Award Croatia 2026
Viktor Viljac, an undergraduate student in Information and Business Systems at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (SUZG FOI), won first place at Social Impact Award Croatia 2026. His project, Volonter.hr – Digital VolunteerCard, stood out among twelve finalist teams, marking an outstanding achievement in a competition that encourages young people to develop innovative solutions for positive social change.

Guest Lecture: Mohsan Ali
A guest lecture by Mohsan Ali entitled “Learning Across Borders: Education, Culture, and the Greek Experience” will take place on Tuesday, 10 November 2026, at 4:00 p.m. in Room 1, FOI 1, as part of the Business Communication course in the first year of the undergraduate programme in Economics of Entrepreneurship. Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Visits UNIZG FOI
HE Charlotte van Baak, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, visited the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (UNIZG FOI) on Friday, 23 October 2026, as part of her official visit to Varaždin. The meeting showcased FOI’s strategic innovation projects and existing cooperation with Dutch higher education institutions. Discussions addressed the use of artificial intelligence in education, the development of innovative ideas and opportunities to strengthen links between academia and industry.

Prof. Violeta Vidaček Hainš, PhD Guest Lecturer at Thapar University in India
At the invitation of the host institution, Thapar School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (TSLAS) in Patiala, India, Prof. Violeta Vidaček Hainš, PhD, served as a guest lecturer and conducted communication workshops for graduate and doctoral students in psychology from 11 to 18 October 2026. The workshops, entitled “Cross-Cultural Communication and Individual Differences: How to Build Positive Relationships”, brought together approximately 30 students.

International students arrive at UNIZG FOI for the winter semester
The International Relations Centre at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (UNIZG FOI) organised Welcome Week from 29 September to 1 October 2026, welcoming international students for the winter semester of the 2026/27 academic year. The students come from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, EPITECH and ECE Engineering School in France, Malmö University in Sweden, and Hongik University in South Korea.

FOI students develop digital solutions for sustainability in an international setting
Bringing together students and academic staff from five European countries, exchanging knowledge and applying digital technologies to sustainability were at the heart of the international workshop “Green Thinking & Digital Action”, held from 22 to 24 September 2026 in Kranj, Slovenia, with the participation of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (UNIZG FOI).
