FOI has reaffirmed its position as one of the leading higher education institutions in fostering innovation and international cooperation by launching four new Erasmus+ projects. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and expertise of FOI’s staff and its vision focused on innovative approaches to learning, teaching, and studying, as well as developing digital competencies and strengthening project and international collaborations.
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (SUZG FOI) has been successfully building strong ties with renowned American universities for over 15 years, distinguishing itself in the process of internationalization and strengthening international collaboration. Key partners of SUZG FOI in this strategic endeavor include Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), Indiana State University (ISU), and the University of Cincinnati (UC), with whom it jointly implements projects of significance for students, Faculty, and researchers.
As part of the Corporate Management course at the Graduate Study Program Economics of Entrepreneurship, an invited lecture by Professor Mark Thomas from Grenoble École de Management (GEM) was held on the topic "Strategic Entrepreneurship and Weak Signals".
On 4th October, 2024, the initial online meeting of the Erasmus+ project SuMoS - Strengthening the ecosystem for sustainable student mobility was held.
Within the 35th jubilee international Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems (CECIIS), which is held in Varaždin, a work meeting and workshop of the project financed by the Croatian Science Foundation entitled "HELA - Improving HEI maturity to implement learning analytics" was held.
The jubilee 35th international scientific conference CECIIS 2024, Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems was officially opened on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024, at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) in Varaždin. The conference, which lasted until September 20th, gathered a large number of scientists, researchers, representatives of the academic community and industry, from 14 countries and 3 continents.
On the occasion of the 35th international scientific conference Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems (CECIIS) at Faculty of Organization and Informatics, from September 18th, 2024, an exhibition called ‘IS, IIS and CESIIS’ is set up by FOI library manager Bernarda Kos.
The 8th Inter-Departmental Meeting on Business Informatics, titled "Current state and experiences in Business Informatics – past, present, and future" was held during CECIIS conference on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in Varaždin.
The CECIIS international conference is once again gathering a large number of students from different countries as part of the 14th Student Online Section. The leaders of the CECIIS Student Section are Full Prof. Violeta Vidaček Hainš, PhD. from FOI and Full Prof. Victoria Appatova, Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, USA, and Antonela Devčić, Ph.D.
Within the framework of the DigEntre project - Digitalization in Entrepreneurship in the Context of Response to Exogenous Shock: Drivers, Barriers and Impact on Firm Resilience, research began using the survey method as well as phenomenological in-depth interviews.
